Eileen Denny has been in business 10 years, offering "chiropractic, acupunctural and nutritional services," often all three at once. "You're looking at the whole person. Just because your arm hurts, it doesn't mean it's just your arm. I do their history and figure out the best path to take."
She's found that acupuncture is better understood in the Western hemisphere than it was some years ago. "If people call me for acupuncture, they've done their research already and are considering it seriously. Acupuncture's great for sinus complaints. It reduces anxiety. Pregnant women come from all over to see me, since acupuncture can help flip breech babies.
"It's a real family practice," Denny says. With alternative healing practices, "you walk a fine line, since you don't want people to think you're anti-establishment." Her comforting presence and assuring tone certainly help, and a Best Of award from our readers (her first) doesn't hurt either.
